Procedure:
1. Place 2 eggs in the same 250ml beaker, place each one at a time.
2. Cover the egg with 150ml of vinegar.
3. Leave for 24 hours.
4. After 24 hours have passed, carefully remove the eggs from the beaker, one at a time. Also place the eggs on paper towel.
5. Observe the egg’s appearance and record it in Data Table 1.
6. Measure the mass of each egg with a scale and record it in Data Table 2.
7. Pour 150ml of plain water and orange juice into separate beakers. Label each beaker, plain water=1 and orange juice=2.
8. Record the volume for each substance in Data Table 3.
9. Place Egg 1 into the beaker with plain water and Egg 2 into the beaker with orange juice.
10. Leave for 24 hours.
11. After 24 hour, remove the eggs from the beakers, one at a time and very carefully.
12. Place eggs on paper towel.
13. Observe the appearance of each egg and record it in Data Table 1.
14. Measure the mass of each egg and record it in Data Table 2.
15. Measure the volume of liquid left over in each beaker and records it in Data Table 3.
16. Use a toothpick t carefully pop the egg membrane and record their observations in Data Table 1.
17. Have more paper towel ready because it might squirt.
